  7.     It has been about 10 years since Microsoft has last redesigned the
  8.     mouse. The wait was worth it. The latest mouse is completely
  9.     redesigned, and has a better feel than its predecessor. Mouse 2.0
  10.     has an elongated body, and fits comfortably in the palm. In
  11.     addition, the software, version 9.0, has also been redone, and is
  12.     more user-friendly to those who work in MS Windows.

  14.     Mice are usually designed to be al-purpose pointing tools. Microsoft
  15.     designed the new mouse for optimum performance in tasks for Windows.
  16.     Of course the new mouse will work fine in the DOS environment.

  18.     The new mouse is ergonomically correct, which reduce tension on the
  19.     wrist, and is suited for left-or-right handed users. I have suffered
  20.     from carpal-tunnel syndrome, and find the new mouse an ease on the
  21.     metacarpal.

  23.     Hardware features at a glance:
  24.         * Shorter, softer cable.
  25.         * Longer, wider keys.
  26.         * Opto-mechanical encoder.
  27.         * Fifteen gram weight bracket.
  28.         * Five teflon glides.

  32.     Software v9.0 features:
  33.         * Orientation allows the user to hold the mouse at any angle, by
  34.     customizing the software map to the most neutral and comfortable
  35.     alignment of arm and body.
  36.         * Snap To, when activated, minimizes Mouse movements by
  37.     automatically "snapping" the cursor to the default button with any
  38.     command that results in a dialog box. For example, if a program
  39.     requires you to click on "OK," the pointer will snap to it from any
  40.     location on the screen.
  41.         * Screen Wrap, when activated, will go off any edge of the
  42.     screen and reappear on the other side. For example, moving the
  43.     pointer off the left side of the screen, will cause it to reappear
  44.     on the right side.
  45.         * Locate allows you to center the pointer on the screen. This is
  46.     good if you lose your pointer. A key press will pop it to the
  47.     center.

  51.     MS Mouse v2.0 is now available in a wide range of configurations,
  52.     with pricing specific for each (Pricing below). All versions include
  53.     one 3.5-inch high-density Mouse Driver & Software Utilities version
  54.     9.0 disk, and user manual. The MS Mouse carries a limited lifetime
  55.     warranty.

  57.     The Serial Only Mouse includes a 9-pin serial connector and a 9-25
  58.     pin adapter. The Mouse Port version provides a round PS/2-compatible
  59.     interface. The Bus Mouse version includes a bus expansion board.
  60.     Combination version includes one round Mouse Port adapter, and one
  61.     9-25 pin serial adapter.

  78.     As a Windows user I was pleased with both aspects of the new mouse:
  79.     the comfort, and the software. Both have made things easier, and
  80.     cause less strain. Anyone who uses Windows should get this package.
  81.     Non-Windows users should find the new mouse design easier on their
  82.     hand, wrist and arm.
